Experimental film in particular can be phenomenally personal. Often, filmmakers, in attempts to display their perspective upon the world, inevitably return back to their core foundation: their family. In this showcase, we show work from the late Barbara Hammer experiencing her grandmother’s final days, as well as a video work dedicated to a mother by Mona Hatoum and a more joyful portrait of an estranged uncle by Agnes Varda, among more.
