Call for Muralists: Batten Institute
SUBMISSION MATERIALS DUE JANUARY 31
The Batten Institute and the Charlottesville Mural Project seek a local/regional artists to design and execute a mural to cover an interior, concave wall in the common area of the Batten Institute suite on the second floor of the Camp Library at the Darden School of Business.
1st Call for Artists:
- Current Resume and Bio
- Artist/Collaborative Statement of Interest, limit to one page, explaining how you would approach this project and describing relevant experience that would contribute to your success in completing this project. Why did you apply? Briefly share your experience with and/or connection to entrepreneurship & innovation.
- Images or link to previous work samples (up to 5). Must include previous mural work.
- Image list (titles, mediums, sizes, years, locations).
A jury comprised of members appointed by the Batten Institute and the Charlottesville Mural Project will select 2-3 finalists who will receive a $200 stipend to meet with members of the Batten Institute and prepare a preliminary design concept/rendering. 1 selected muralist will be awarded a stipend of $3,500 (to include travel) upon completion of the mural. Paint/Supplies will be provided (not to exceed $1,000).
