Miller Queen

Bio: Miller Murray Susen has just a few select lucky friends BY CHOICE. Although she was not crowned prom queen at her own senior prom it's just because everyone was jealous of her and wanted her to fail but in your faces she is a housewife now. She made, and continues to make, fetch happen. Suck it, most of you. Thank you for your time. I should be prom queen because it's important that both bitchy and popular people, and just plain bitchy people, achieve highschool dance royalty representation. Diversity is like so critical.

Serena Queen

Serena believes that art is the answer. At prom, her “answer” was to offer an interpretive, cross-court, dramatic dance to nearly every rock ballad that played, much to the dismay of her date Steve. This prom, Serena will reprise her role as prom decor committee chair, and has promised her mom not to leave her prized ficus tree behind this time. Serena, who once served as Program Director at The Bridge, is honored to represent interpretive dancers, rhythm feelers, and ficus forgetters everywhere on her road to The Throne.

Sarah Queen

Sarah carr prom pic

Sarah Carr has been involved with The Bridge since 2009, which qualifies the organization as her longest-running boyfriend. She just keeps coming back to him. While she typically shies away from public appearances and prefers an Oz-like role behind the curtain of Gift Forest, she is stepping out to further her Marxist agenda. First objective: dismantle the prom regime from the inside. Second objective: bring the party to the people. Third objective: I’ll get back to you on that after a glass of punch. “The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have an 80s prom to win.” -Karl Marx

Emma Queen

After graduating from William & Mary in 2001, Emma, the nascent anthropologist & artist, found herself accidentally working in finance for seven years. Disheartened and seeking a respite from work that “was stealing her soul,” she took a year off to study Ethnography & Folklore at the University College Cork, Ireland. There, she learned the value of slow-living, walking amongst the sheep on the rolling hills, and started to think it was time for a major change in her life. In 2010, the decision was made to leave Richmond for Charlottesville with the expressed goal of working for the University of Virginia in the Arts. A few months and two interviews later, she was hired as the Staff Assistant to the Vice Provost of the Arts in the Office of the Executive Vice President & Provost at UVA. The past seven years spent working at a world-class University have been incredibly fulfilling for Emma. As a young woman, she would plot how to become a lifelong professional student, and now, tasked with collaborating with progressive thinkers and creators to facilitate open forums for discourse, exhibition, and performance, working at UVA Arts gets her pretty close to that dream and with a salary instead of tuition! She is now the Programs & Communication Manager for UVA Arts & Special Assistant to the Vice Provost for the Arts. I should win the title of the Revel Prom Queen, so I can have a taste of a real high school experience!! My hippy-dippy high school class of 20 students was a far cry from the real world... Give me a chance to experience all the glory and embarrassment of being in high school!!!

Brian King

Hi. Want some candy? Bee Gees tickets? Ayahuasca? Not sure what makes it a party these days. Kings and queens. I thought we were over that. Maybe like a Saturnalian king who is fool for a day. I can do that. But I promise as prom king, once the bucket of blood has fallen on my head and I’ve mastered my telekinetic powers, I’ll spare the geeks and freaks, the artists and loners. The band’s good, too. But John Travolta, you’re done. Unless you decide to dance. I’ll be practicing my merengue.
