Bridge PAI teams up with Virginia Festival of the Book

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) — The Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative is partnering with the upcoming Virginia Festival of the Book to highlight several events.

On March 20, poet Ross Gay will be talking about his new book-length poem, “Be Holding: A Poem.”

On March 21, Catherine Hernandez and Jordan Ifueko will be talking about their works, “Crosshairs” and “Raybearer,” as well as their experiences as women of color writing in science fiction and fantasy.

There are two events set for March 22 that are part of this partnership.

The first is with authors Ross Gay and Aimee Nezhukumatathil, who will be talking about their new books, collected essays on their appreciation of ordinary wonders of the world.

The second will involve John Lanchester and Te-Ping Chen, who will be talking about their new collections of short stories on interpersonal connection, technology, ambition and more.
