Filmmaking is expensive, they say. You need to get a whole crew and a production company and donors in order to make a movie. Right?
This program serves to prove that line of thinking wrong. No, you don’t need a fancy camera to make movies. In fact, there is a whole strain of filmmakers devoted to making films without cameras. Camera-less filmmaking can use found footage, animation, old photos, apple notes, etc. Join us for a night of excellent films that extend the notion of what is needed for something to be called a movie.
Filmmaker and curator Nzingha Kendall will be joining us for an Q&A after the program.
