Environmental Intervention Through Art: A Conversation and Community Action with Artist Natalie Jeremijenko

February 7, 2015 @ 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Spend an afternoon with internationally renowned artist Natalie Jeremijenko as we learn about her work to explore how health and wellness are dependent on external local environments. We will be introduced to Ms. Jeremijenko’s xClinic with particular attention focused on the noPARK Emergency Garden, a prescription/intervention that seeks to remediate storm water and air pollution and re-green the streetscape.

Joining us will be locally-based permaculture and native species experts Devin Floyd (Center for Urban Habitats) and Sarah Frazer (C’ville Foodscapes) who will lead the conversation with Ms. Jeremijenko. As a group we will learn how to create our own noPARK Emergency Garden using plants and techniques specific to the Charlottesville condition.

Co-produced with with U.Va.’s Visual Arts Board
