Rededication Week: Day 2 (Tuesday)

Join us in celebrating a new chapter for the renown public landmark in the heart of town by rededicating the Community Chalkboard as an inclusive, inviting tribute to creative expression and public engagement. Help us reaffirm this landmark for the next generations of artists and thinkers expressing the ideas shaping a better future for us all. Drop in on events all week long. You are welcome to bring your own seating.

5:15 – 5:45 Central Virginia Theater Alliance presents “Sweet Nothings”

A theatrical amuse-bouche based on Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing :a teaser for the upcoming Central Virginia Theater Alliance collaborative production and May tour of Much Ado About Nothing by Wm. Shakespeare featuring Balthasar’s Beat Band; Beatrice and Benedick; and the Bumble Boys on Horseback

6:00 – 7:00 Big Blue Door presents “Words On The Wall”

Big Blue Door performers and audience volunteers will read portions of famous American speeches pulled randomly from a hat! Audience members and performers try to guess original speakers and win prizes (Prizes as cheap as a country without freedom).

7:30 – 8:30 MIMA presents “Pedestrian Sound Collage”

Join MIMA for a low-stakes collaborative experience. Jordan Perry will have the microphone and the gadgets to incorporate pedestrian sounds into a unique musical composition.
