A CSA Share is Good For Your Constitution

Supporting your local CSA program has traditionally meant cultivating a relationship with your local farmer to support their farm while feeding your family with amazing produce. The relationship serves your family, the farm family, and the local food landscape. You grow closer to your local farmer through the CSA program.

Now, The Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative has adopted the CSA model for our art community. Purchasing a share in our Community Supported Artist program brings you closer to Charlottesville’s local artists. Instead of organic rabe and fresh eggs, your share consists of six unique works of art (sculpture, painting, illustrations, pottery and metalwork) created by six hand-picked artists.

With a CSA Share you actively participate in the cultivation of local art and artists. You enter into a relationship with six artists and the group of shareholders who have come together to support the pursuit of creativity in Charlottesville.

So…is buying a CSA share good for your constitution? Maybe not as directly as that farm-share kale, but I’m sure you’ll agree that art does a body good and supporting artists does our community good.

Think what good holiday gifts a share will make! Buy one for your Aunt Sue. Or buy one and give six of your best friends and clients a portion of small-batch locally-produced art. Wow!
