NBC 29: Group Cycles Around Charlottesville to See Various Murals

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Sunday’s dreary weather didn’t stop cyclists from enjoying the colorful murals adorning the city of Charlottesville.

A group of bikers set off on a ride around the city to see some of its various murals and learn a little more about them. The event was in collaboration between The Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative, the Tom Tom Festival, and several other organizations.

“Well I’m just hoping mostly that people have a good time and maybe meet someone new and feel enthusiastic and safe about biking and owning your city on pedals,” said Alan Goffinski, with The Bridge PAI.

The mural ride ended over at the Peloton Station in Charlottesville. The restaurant donated $1 toward community murals for every drink each cyclist purchased.
