June Bouquet: New Works by Veronica Haunani Fitzhugh and Aerial Perkins

The Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative hosts June Bouquet, a photography and poetry pop-up exhibition running June 29 through July 1. The exhibition opens with a reception on June 29 from 5:00-7:00 pm.

June Bouquet is a composite of natural photography and poetry.  Through the combination of word and picture, this exhibition illustrates how seemingly discordant pieces can come together and be interesting if not beautiful.

Aerial Perkins was born in Charlottesville and raised in Buckingham VA. Three years ago, she picked up her first camera and her photography journey began. Her photography has been published in “The Informant” a black owned newspaper in Farmville V.A. and in the Vinegar Hill Fall Issue 2017. Nature and scenic photography has her heart, but she loves all genres. Aerial is also an award winning published writer.

Veronica Haunani Fitzhugh earned her BA in English Literature from the University of Virginia but is more proud of the friendships she earned through her social justice work in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Perkins States, “Photography found me at a very intricate transition in my life. The art of capturing the moment and allowing beauty to be just as it is, intensified my desire to nurture this new-found love. It is my hope that you enjoy what I have found to be exhilarating and healing.”
