NBC29: Techno Bingo Offers the C’ville Community a Fun Way to Support the Arts

The Bridge Progressive Art Initiative on Monticello Road hosted Techno Bingo Saturday.

The event served as a fundraising opportunity to support the free performances and events that they offer for the community.

Participants enjoyed music, drinks and the chance to win fantastic prizes.

Guests purchased bingo cards and played for a chance to win prizes from Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, C&O, Crozet Creamery, Grit Coffee, Lampo, and various other Charlottesville businesses.

Members say this fundraising event allows the initiative to continue their mission of bringing art to the community.

“It brings the whole community together. This space is about bringing the community together. The full Charlottesville community together to celebrate art and the diversity of the town we have here and I think that just like music, food, the arts in general anything like that people can share sort of breaks down boundaries,” said Travis Thatcher with The Bridge PAI.

The event offered a space for community building and a chance to support artists. “I wanted to come out because some friends are involved in it and a lot local artists who I’ve known throughout the years have used The Bridge and The Bridge is a really good place that our town needs,” said Sena Magill, an attendee.

Techno Bingo was a way for The Bridge and all the companies that contributed to express their support of the arts in Charlottesville.
